What is the WRP Wood Repair System?
The WRP Wood Repair System includes materials with different roles: Wood Consolidant is used on prepared remaining wood where applicable; WRP Epoxy Dough rebuilds localized missing wood after preparation and a repair-suitability decision; WRP Topping is optional surface refinement. Not every repair requires every product.
What types of wood can WRP repair?
Choose a WRP material for an appropriate wood-repair application and follow its current surface-preparation and application instructions. Confirm any species-specific or non-wood compatibility questions with WRP before use.
Can rotten wood really be repaired instead of replaced?
Localized repair may be appropriate after the moisture or deterioration source is addressed and repair suitability is established. Remove and prepare deteriorated material only within the evaluated repair scope, then use applicable WRP materials. Appearance alone does not establish concealed or load-bearing condition; uncertain framing, supports or connections need qualified evaluation.

Which WRP repair kit should I choose?
After repair suitability is established, choose a kit based on the amount of material needed for the evaluated repair area and depth. Use the Repair Wizard if you are unsure, and compare current kit quantities and contents in the WRP Shop.
Can I complete multiple repairs with one kit?
One kit may supply several repairs if it contains enough material for their combined size and depth. Estimate the total material needed; there is no fixed repair count per kit.
What if I'm between two kit sizes?
Estimate the material needed and compare the current quantities and coverage information for the kits you are considering. Use the Repair Wizard or contact WRP if you are uncertain.
Do all kits include everything needed for the repair?
Kit contents vary. Review the current product listing before ordering. Project-specific preparation tools, protective equipment, coatings, finishes or other supplies may be additional.
Can I purchase replacement products separately?
Yes. Many WRP products and accessories are available individually for customers who need additional material or frequently perform wood repairs.

Preparing Damaged Wood Before Repair
Review repair suitability, moisture-source correction and the applicable preparation requirements before selecting materials.
How much rotten wood should I remove before using WRP?
Address the moisture source and establish repair suitability before removal. Remove and prepare deteriorated material only within the evaluated repair scope and current instructions; stop and reassess if damage extends beyond that scope. Appearance or firmness alone does not establish concealed or load-bearing suitability. Uncertain framing, beams, supports or connections need qualified evaluation. Review how the WRP process works.
Does the wood need to be dry before repair?
Address the moisture source and meet the surface-preparation requirements in the current instructions for the selected WRP material. Drying alone does not establish concealed condition or repair suitability.
Do I need to treat the remaining wood?
Wood Consolidant may be used as a preparation step on applicable prepared remaining wood when the evaluated repair and current instructions call for it. It is not required for every repair and does not establish structural suitability. Preservative treatment is a separate function from rebuilding missing wood.
Can WRP be used if some original wood is still damaged?
Whether deteriorated wood may remain must be established as part of the repair-suitability decision. Address the moisture source and complete removal and preparation within the evaluated scope. Reassess concealed or structural uncertainty before proceeding; Consolidant does not establish that wood is suitable to retain.
What tools do I need to prepare the wood?
Tools may include scrapers, brushes or other preparation tools, depending on the task and method. Protective equipment and dust controls depend on the selected products, tools and existing coatings. Review current labels, instructions and SDS in Technical Documents, and obtain appropriate guidance before disturbing coatings of unknown composition.

How long does a WRP repair last?
There is no universal guaranteed lifespan for a repair. Service life depends on the underlying condition, moisture-source correction, preparation, application, exposure and maintenance. The Before & After Gallery shows examples, not proof of a particular repair lifespan.
Is the WRP Wood Repair System waterproof?
Do not treat the WRP system as a solution to a moisture-source problem. Correct that source first. Water-exposure and exterior finishing requirements depend on the selected product and its current instructions; do not assume a system-wide waterproof property.
Can WRP rebuild missing sections of wood?
WRP Epoxy Dough rebuilds applicable localized missing wood after repair suitability is established and preparation requirements are met. Missing wood does not automatically make localized repair appropriate, and material use does not establish structural suitability.
Can WRP be used on structural wood?
Some localized repairs involve wood components that also serve structural functions. Material selection does not establish structural suitability, and appearance or firmness does not establish concealed condition or load-bearing capacity. Uncertain beams, columns, framing, supports or connections require qualified evaluation before removal or reliance on a localized repair approach.
Can WRP be used indoors and outdoors?
Indoor or outdoor use depends on the selected WRP material, the evaluated repair and current product instructions. Follow applicable finishing and protection requirements for the exposure conditions.

Can WRP be sanded after it cures?
Follow the current instructions for the selected cured material before sanding. Use protective equipment and dust controls appropriate to the material, tools and existing coatings; review Technical Documents for safety information.
Can I drill, carve, or shape the repair?
Permitted shaping, drilling or carving operations depend on the selected material and its current instructions. Confirm the intended operation with WRP if the instructions do not address it; do not assume every WRP material supports the same operations.
Can WRP be painted or stained?
For paint, follow the selected material and coating instructions for preparation, curing and finishing. Do not assume an epoxy repair absorbs penetrating wood stain like natural wood. Contact WRP for material-specific finishing or color questions before choosing a method.
Can I recreate wood grain and texture?
Review current WRP instructions for texture or grain techniques appropriate to the selected material. The achievable appearance depends on the material, surrounding surface and technique; a particular match is not guaranteed.
Will the repair blend with the existing wood?
Final appearance depends on shaping, optional surface refinement, texture, coating or paint, the surrounding substrate and installer technique. WRP Topping may be used for minor surface refinement where applicable; no seamless match is guaranteed.
